Procurement Manager | Strategic Procurement Lead | Procurement Team Leader
Permanent | On-site | £45,000-£55,000 per annum | Monday-Friday, 7:30am-3:30pm | 39 hours per week
Introduction
Acorn by Synergie is recruiting for a permanent, on-site procurement role offering a salary of £45,000-£55,000 per annum.
This role involves leading a team, driving strategic procurement activities and working cross-functionally to support production schedules, supplier relationships and business objectives within an aerospace environment.
Key Duties
Lead a team to achieve departmental goals.
Work with the SAP S/4HANA system, using the Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system.
Use continuous improvement tools to develop and introduce effective processes.
Attend weekly site management meetings.
Conduct regular one-to-one meetings with team members.
Drive procurement strategies aligned with business objectives, focusing on cost optimisation, supplier reliability and risk mitigation.
Expedite late orders at the earliest stage.
Lead, mentor and coach a team of buyers to improve negotiation skills, supplier relationship management and compliance with company policies.
Work with the Supplier Relationship Manager and Supplier Quality Engineer to establish and maintain strategic partnerships with key suppliers.
Identify cost-saving opportunities, improve procurement efficiency and support long-term planning through data-driven decision-making.
Collaborate with Operations, Demand Planning and Supply Chain teams to align procurement activities with production schedules, inventory targets and organisational goals.
Requirements
Experience using SAP.
Experience within the aerospace industry.
Strategic procurement leadership experience, including cost optimisation, supplier reliability and risk mitigation.
Experience leading, mentoring and coaching team members.
Strong supplier relationship management skills.
The ability to identify cost-saving opportunities and use data to support decision-making.
Experience collaborating across functions to support production and organisational objectives.
A valid driving licence and an acceptable driving record.
The ability to travel to supplier sites.
Desirable Experience
Team leadership or management experience.
Experience within a manufacturing environment.
