Acorn by Synergie joins ACT’s Jobs Growth Wales+ Employer Pledge to support young people into work
Acorn by Synergie has officially joined ACT’s Jobs Growth Wales+ (JGW+) Employer Pledge, reinforcing its commitment to supporting young people across Wales as they take their first steps into the world of work.
The JGW+ Employer Pledge brings together employers who are dedicated to offering meaningful job placements and work opportunities to 16–19-year-olds enrolled on the Jobs Growth Wales+ programme.
The partnership is a way for young people who are being supported by ACT to access opportunities with Acorn’s clients, with one of the main focuses being placements within the construction industry.
By signing the pledge, Acorn by Synergie is actively supporting the Welsh Government’s Young Person’s Guarantee, which ensures every person under the age of 25 in Wales has access to education, training, or employment. It is also helping to build a skilled and motivated workforce for the future, while demonstrating strong social responsibility and leadership in workforce development.
Employers who sign the pledge receive a free consultation with ACT to identify their specific workforce needs, ensuring they can effectively support their commitment while providing valuable, structured opportunities for learners.
Emily Meredith, Head of HR, at Acorn by Synergie said:
“We are proud to join ACT’s Jobs Growth Wales+ Employer Pledge and to play a meaningful role in supporting young people as they begin their careers. We see first-hand the importance of access to opportunity, guidance and real workplace experience. By welcoming a JGW+ learner into our business, we are investing not only in their future, but in the future workforce of Wales. This partnership reflects our ongoing commitment to developing talent and creating inclusive pathways into employment.”
Helena Williams, Director at ACT, said:
“We are pleased to be working in partnership with Acorn by Synergie, a leading recruitment company with a strong track record of connecting people to opportunity. By aligning their employer networks with our training delivery across ACT, we are creating a socially responsible model that supports young people from engagement through to sustained employment. This partnership strengthens our collective ability to deliver real impact for individuals, businesses and communities."
Leon Patnett, Head of Youth Engagement & Training at ACT, added:
“This is a great opportunity for JGW+ learners to be supported in reaching their full potential. Acorn’s extensive employer network, combined with its expert labour market insight, will provide invaluable opportunities for our learners as they take their first steps into employment."
