Acorn by Synergie is recruiting a Furniture Assembly Operative to join a well-established mobility furniture company in Newton Abbot.

As a Furniture Assembly Operative, you will be responsible for assembling, checking and finishing metal and upholstered furniture using a range of hand and power tools.

• £12.71 per hour, increasing to £13.45 per hour after 12 weeks.

• Monday-Thursday: 7:30am-4:30pm.

• Friday: 7:30am-1:15pm.

Key Duties

• Read and follow job sheets, assembly instructions and build diagrams.

• Safely use cordless drills, screwdrivers, mallets and other hand and power tools.

• Inspect finished products for quality, defects and correct assembly.

• Ensure products meet the required quality standards.

• Maintain a clean, tidy and safe working environment.

• Follow all company health and safety procedures.

Requirements

• Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.

• Ability to follow safety procedures and assembly instructions.

• Good attention to detail.

• Practical problem-solving skills, particularly when parts do not align correctly.

• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

• Good basic communication skills.

• Previous furniture assembly or manufacturing experience would be advantageous.
