Introduction

Acorn by Synergie is recruiting Maintenance Technicians, Electrical Maintenance Technicians, and Engineering Technicians to join a market-leading life sciences organisation in Cardiff.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced maintenance professional to join a busy manufacturing environment, carrying out preventative maintenance, fault finding, and equipment support. The role is initially offered on a temporary basis for 2-3 months, with the potential for long-term or permanent opportunities for the right candidate.

Key Duties

• Carry out planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance on production equipment.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns, machine faults, process changeovers, and production requirements.
• Support machine setup activities and ensure equipment is operating efficiently.
• Assist with installation qualifications, risk assessments, PUWER assessments, and LOTO procedures.
• Work closely with process engineering teams to monitor equipment performance.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and support improvements across production processes.
• Maintain high standards of health and safety, quality, and compliance at all times.

Requirements

• Completed apprenticeship or equivalent formal qualification (NVQ Level 3 / HNC / BTEC) in electrical maintenance or a related engineering discipline.
• Experience within a manufacturing, production, or engineering environment.
• PLC experience, including systems such as Siemens, Mitsubishi, or Omron.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage time-critical issues.
• Strong focus on health and safety, quality, and delivery.
• Experience with mechanical maintenance is desirable.
• Experience working with refrigeration systems would be advantageous.

Working Hours & Pay

• Monday to Friday.
• Rotating shifts:
  • 6am-2pm.
  • 2pm-10pm.
• Pay rate: £19.48-£22.29 per hour.
• Temporary position with potential long-term opportunities.
