Introduction

Acorn by Synergie is recruiting for a Sewing Machinist to join a friendly, family-run manufacturing business specialising in bespoke furniture. Based in Heathfield, this is a fantastic opportunity to work in a varied, hands-on role where no two days are the same. Full training is provided, making this ideal for someone with experience using industrial sewing machines looking to develop further.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate industrial sewing machines to construct and repair upholstery items.
• Work on a variety of bespoke designs and projects.
• Select appropriate fabrics and materials based on specifications.
• Take individual responsibility for the quality of finished work.
• Collaborate with team members to meet production targets and deadlines.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workspace.
• Troubleshoot and resolve minor machine issues to ensure workflow efficiency.
• Produce high-quality upholstered products with precision and attention to detail.

Requirements

• Experience using industrial sewing machines.
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Organised and methodical approach to tasks.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Full UK driving licence (due to location).
