Newent, Gloucestershire | £80,000 per annum | Full-Time | Permanent | Hybrid / Flexible Working
Introduction
Acorn by Synergie is recruiting an Assistant Director of Assets on behalf of Two Rivers Housing.
This is a senior leadership opportunity for an experienced professional to make a real difference for families, ensuring homes are warm, safe, and affordable. You will lead on the development and delivery of asset management and net zero strategies, putting tenants at the heart of decision-making.
As a member of the leadership team, you will act as the technical advisor for all asset matters, including management, maintenance, energy improvement works, surveying, and compliance. You will support the Head of Assets and Head of Compliance in delivering customer-focused services and fostering a culture of development and inclusion.
Key Responsibilities

Lead the development and delivery of asset management and net zero strategies.

Provide technical guidance on maintenance, surveying, compliance, and energy improvement works.

Manage multi-disciplined teams and external contractors, ensuring excellent tenant experience.

Act as an advocate for tenants, incorporating their feedback into strategic planning and service delivery.

Deliver ambitious strategic plans and capital works programmes, ensuring compliance with Building Safety, CDM, and landlord obligations.

Oversee contract procurement, management, and performance.

Support a culture of inclusion, learning, and professional development within the Assets and Compliance teams.
Requirements
-
Proven experience as a senior leader managing multi-disciplined teams and external contractors.

Strong knowledge of social housing asset management, compliance, capital works, net zero, construction health and safety, and contract delivery.

Track record of developing and delivering strategic plans that achieve tangible results.

Excellent strategic, analytical, and leadership skills.

Ability to take ownership of areas of responsibility and manage performance effectively.

Qualified to degree level or equivalent (HND) or qualified by experience.

Relevant management qualification (ILM, CMI) desirable.

MRICS or MCIOB advantageous.
-
NEBOSH or similar health & safety experience desirable.

Project Management qualification desirable.

Full UK driving licence and access to a car insured for business use.
Salary & Benefits
