Acorn by Synergie is seeking a dedicated Highways Operative to help maintain a safe and accessible highway network for the public and businesses across South East Wales, 24/7. The successful candidate will play a key role in a variety of general highway maintenance tasks, including drainage, pothole repairs, fencing, grass cutting, and other related duties.

Key Requirements:

• Experience with mobile working technology, such as hand-held devices.
• A full UK driving license.
• Flexibility to work across various depots in Monmouthshire.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out a range of general highway maintenance activities.
• Operate small plant and hand tools necessary for various tasks.
• Comply with Health & Safety regulations and maintain accurate work records.
• Participate in winter maintenance duties and be part of the standby rota.

Essential Skills:

• Ability to perform manual tasks and work effectively as part of a team.
• Experience in operating construction machinery (training provided).
• Strong communication skills and basic literacy for record-keeping.
• Commitment to working safely and following Health & Safety protocols.

This position offers 37 hours of work per week.
