Job description

Acorn by Synergie is recruiting for a Transport Operations Manager to join a leading global food service wholesaler and play a key role in optimising transport operations.

Role overview:

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing transport operations, optimising delivery routes, and leading a team of drivers to ensure exceptional service.

Key responsibilities:

Overseeing and managing all transport operations to ensure efficient and timely delivery of products.
Coaching and leading the Transport Leadership Team.
Ensuring tasks are completed within the required SLA timescales and budget.
Develop and implement transport strategies to optimise routes and reduce costs.
Lead and motivate large teams of drivers ensuring high levels of performance and safety.
Managing budgets and controlling expenses related to transportation operations.
Collaborate with other departments to coordinate logistics and improve service delivery.
Manage relationships with third-party transport providers and negotiate contracts.
Ensuring compliance and maintenance of all transport vehicles and equipment.
Resolving any transport related issues or challenges that arise.
Conduct regular training and development sessions for staff to enhance skills and knowledge.

Skills and Qualifications:

Strong leadership and time management skills.
Strong relationship-building skills
Expertise on legal compliance and company standards
Experience managing large teams
Knowledge and understanding of transport legislation
Holds a CPC qualification
Preferable experience within the Food Service Delivery industry
Engaging, enthusiastic, and proactive.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
